The Dominican Republic legislation considers that a distinctive sign is famous when is known to the relevant sector of public or business circles in the country or international trade. Therefore, gaining fame in DR may be easier than in other jurisdictions.

- Prevention of third parties registration applications that copy your famous sign
- Protection without registration
- Protection further than the actual sign
- Protection beyond the registered commercial purposes, goods or services.
